About

The UofSC Aiken University Archives Digital Collection presents selected documents, photographs, and yearbooks from the UofSC Aiken University Archives located in the Gregg-Graniteville Library.

The Digital Collection represents a small collection of materials from the University Archives, whose mission is to collect, arrange, preserve, and make accessible the permanent records of the University of South Carolina Aiken.  The Archives' manuscript and photographic holdings document the founding of the institution and its growth from a two-year college to a  nationally ranked regional comprehensive university.

This digital collection is published online for the first time in celebration of the University's 60th Anniversary in 2021. Upon its initial release, the digital collection presented a selection of photographs, yearbooks, and a timeline.

The collection holds approximately 150 photographs and 1523 yearbook pages.

Digital objects are held in an Omeka S, an open-source digital asset management system. All digital resources are rendered using the International Interoperability Image Framework (iiif) standard and described using the Dublin Core metadata element set .
